Mazda3 2014 Headlights Beam Projection
Please help! I am in a process of transferring my beloved Mazda3 2.2D SportNav (adaptive headlights) from the UK to Hungary. How can the headlight beam projection be adjusted/changed? It's a right-hand car and the headlight projection is opposite to a left-hand drive car. The level adjustment is fine, but this light projects more towards ongoing cars. I have adjusted the levels with the white cap/screw. In older cars, this was done with swapping/changing the mirrors in the headlights. Thanks.
I did some research and contacted a couple of really specialised headlight repair shops and they all said it can be done. Ordinary car electricians don't want to touch xenon headlights
. There is also a youtube video with the title "RHD to LHD headlights" that shows that you only need to adjust the reflector behind the lens in xenon lights. Apparently, it's not a big and complicated job.

Hi Roger,
yes, I did, back in 2021. The car passed the state technical inspection (first time MOT) in Hungary successfully. Still driving my Mazda here and couldn't be happier.
Exactly as you wrote
Found a garage in Serbia, Belgrade who are specialized in headlights. They opened them up (with heat-guns) and adjusted the mirrors inside so the beam would be the opposite projectory. They even showed me different types of headlights, e.g. in German cars (BMW) this is done by a simple switch inside the headlight, while for the Mazda it is a little more complicated, since there is no switch and the beams are moving with steering, so the mirrors needs to be adjusted. It was a 130EUR job, around 150 USD.
But as you mentioned no ordinary car electricians wanted to touch them
. Man, I contacted a lot of them
Doing this I saved around 1300EUR (1500USD). I also had to replace the tailgate-lamps, as the reverse-light and fog-light positions had to be swapped (to drive a RH car in a LH country – fog-light must be towards the outside lane). I did the tailgate-lamps change by myself following a YouTube video.
