Have a 2006 Mazda 3 since new with 64,000 miles. Went to have it inspected and needed new struts (OEM still on). No great surprise. Had the mechanic change them. After he completed the job he called and asked if I had any brake noise issues. He said the brakes and rotors were fine but apparently when they went to road test the car they heard a noise when breaking that occurred just as the care was stopping. My wife picked it up and drove it and then asked me to. Had never heard the noise before. The mechanic told me to bring it back because he thinks it might be the half axle. At this point I am beginning to think they screwed the pooch when they changed the struts. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
