Mazda 3 cv boot joint problem
My garage can't do cv boot on my Mazda 3 (year 56) they took it off, found it to be crimped and were unable to replace. New set from mazda costing £1000 which i can't afford. I'm In Leeds any ideas help appreciated
What's a "56"?
I've never seen a CV boot that's "crimped on",
The boots are held on with metal bands/crimps, but they are easy to fit/replace.
$1000 is complete overkill for a boot, maybe that's for a complete CV joint, even at that pricce i'm surprised, most likely a complete new axle???

The garage said they had taken both sides of the cv boot with the axel and and found the boot crimped on.
And was give the option to invest in the manufactures replacement units plus labour.
Are you in the UK area?
