Default Mazda 3 bumber trim

Hello,
this winter I had to climb a snow bank to avoid a collision with someone who didn't know that the road curved at that point. Anyway, the front of my 2008 3sport suffered some minor damage that I would now like to fix. Unfortunately the broken part is not available from Mazda, they say it is part of the bumber and I need to buy a new bumber! This part is just below the bumber. It is black plastic and is behind the peice you are now thinking that I mean. It screws to the leading edge of the "splash tray" and also to the underside of the bumber. Does anyone know a part number or perhaps where I might be able to get a new one of these?

Thanks,
can you tell I like to talk?

Tim

im sorry to say that is part of the bumper its not a separate part and yes if i want it fixed u need 2 replace the front bumper. But to have that part broken, they must have downgraded the quality of the plastic in the more current years because that part is extremely flexible, but i would like to see some decent pics (as in no cell phone or bargain walmart camera plz) of the damage.

I know what you are talking about. I had mine off just the other day to do some work under there.
The strip of plastic (roughly 4"x 4.5') that attach's to the bumper cover with 6 self-tapping screws plus two screws that are shared with the engine shield and one plastic push-in connector. It joins the ends of the wheels well splash shields and the engine splash shield together to form an all in one cover for the bottom of the car.
I don't see why it would not be available separately, or that the one you have cannot be repaired enough to reuse it. Mine is fairly thin and flexible. The parts guy must have misunderstood what it was you were after.

Default Pics of Damage

Sorry for the delay. Here are some pics of the damage. I brougght the broken peices into Mazda. The Parts guy showed me the computer. The part is not on the diagram at all. The body shop guys said it was part of the bumber so I would have to buy a new bumber....

If I cannot buy one from Mazda, is there an aftermarket spoiler that will negate the need for this part?

I have higher resolution pics if you want.

the 1st and 2nd pics show a damaged skid plate which is separate from the bumper, and that little lip also seems to be separate and be replaced with a nicer aftermarket one, just look on ebay
