Default mazda 3 broken aerial cant replace !HELP!

hi
the aerial broke off and the thread of the screw is still in the hole, does anyone know how i can get this out without damage or how to take off the aerial unit so i can replace?

Personally, I would get a drill bit just a little smaller than the threaded portion of the hole, center it well, and drill straight down through the middle. Then you should be able to loosen the unsupported threaded rest of it and back it out using a small tool, like a pick or a small screwdriver. They are not usually that tight, relying more on the pressure of the flat surfaces between the antenna mast and base to hold it together.

What he said, after you drill use an Easy-Out.

Or just start with a left handed drill bit and you might get lucky.

thanks guys, i will try it but im a bit scared it might end up denting the roof lol.
also it is still under warranty do you think this is covered or not?

You don't say what year your car is or what mileage you have on the odo, nor how the mast came to be damaged. If it happened due to owner error, such as: A car wash, a low garage door, or vandalism it will not be covered under warranty. If it is/was a defective mast that broke off for no reason @ say.... 70 mph, they may cover it for you.
You should not dent the roof as you should only need to drill down through the center stud and it's not that long.... maybe 1/2"?
