Just dished out $1600 on a new pump and installation, my car was not part of the recall, I have taken it to the dealer for maintenance since I bought it, the tech was just as surprised it went. Last year it needed a new coil pack. Before that I have had zero issues. It's my 2nd mazda. My first (2012) is doing great, my eldest now has it. I reached out to mazda to inquire if they are looking at other years for the recall as clearly it's an issue but they have not been very helpful. Telling me no they are not and if it failed, there must have been signs I ignored, I explained 3 times I have taken the car only to the dealership and got all THEIR recommended maintenence, not once did a tech express concerns. I'm pissed right now Anyone else have an issue with the fuel pressure pump?

 

Recall was for the low pressure intank fuel pump, not the high pressure pump.
