I'm in the market for a new car to replace my 2007 Honda Fit. Most of my miles are long interstate road trips, so I'd like something a little quieter than the Fit. However, I've read in some reviews the Mazda 3 is a little noisier at interstate speeds than some of its competitors (like the Ford Focus) and that "but tingle" sets in after a couple hours due to a lack of cushioning. Also that the 18" wheels are a bit harsh (though I'd stick with the 16" wheels on the i Touring, and the "premium cloth-trimmed sport seats").

I'm looking for some feedback from forum members who've logged some serious interstate miles, and please specify which trim (wheels and seats) you have.
