Default Key fob fix/bypass?

I have a 2014 mazda 3 and currently the key fob is giving me some trouble. Most of the time when I press the clutch, the push start button will flash a green light like it's looking for the fob but not reading it. Eventually it will pick it up after about 10 minutes of re-trying, but i want to get it worked out before it quits completely. Pushing the button with the fob has not helped, and I have changed the battery twice. I would think the fob was bad, but the rest of the fob's functions work fine (lock, unlock, trunk). Does anyone know what could be causing this and what I need to do to fix it? Or a way to bypass the fob completely

Have you scanned the car for fault codes?
Have you used live data to monitor the clutch pedal switch operation?
