Just bought a 2006 Mazda 3 Hatchback.

Hey Guys,

I just bought a 2006 Mazda 3 Hatchback from a dealer a few weeks ago.

Last night just out of curiosity, I took a dip to see what the oil was like, and it looked to me as if it was over full.

I re-did the oil reading this morning to find out that it's still the same and now i'm worried If I should take the car into the dealer and get it re-done or something.

As you can tell, I am no way close to car savvy and if you could inform me of what to do, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks guys!

Dave

Dav: too much oil is not good. It could cause a seal to blow. The dealer may have a suction tube to pull out the excess oil.
If the oil looks dark and smells bad it is due for an oil change anyway. If it is golden, clean and smells little removing the excess with a suction tube will do. If in doubt have the oil changed.

When I look over a purchase candidate I look at the oil to see its level and condition.

Hatchback's are my favorite style of car. They look best, especially with tinted windows. Show us some pics!

I went to the Mazda dealer this morning, and got it checked out. They said that I did the reading wrong, as you aren't suppose to put it all the way in and hear the click.

As for the photos, I'll post an album shortly.
