Mazda3 Offered in both a sedan and wagon, this sporty model offers a great car for the family, as well a fun track car.

I need some opinions

A CAI will improve upper mid range power (however slightly,) while a short SRI is better for top-end power. But as Dale (shipo) states, all this comes at a cost and that cost is low end torque.
To verify this, do a search for dual or variable function manifolds, which our cars also have BTW. It's basically the same engineering.
Low speed= long runners. High speed= short runners.

Pay attention to "shipo". Nothing short of a super charger or turbo charger will give you "noticeable" performance improvements. However, there are a number of after market exhaust systems that will make you and others "think" your car is faster by adding a nice little growl. Amazing what the imagination will do...

Tracker, please be more specific. I think we would all like to know what you mean.
Do you have examples of changes in hp and tq?

a search on youtube shows many videos of people with different intake and exhaust combos and brands, all of them showed an increase in hp and tq. Careful comparing mustang dynos to dynojet dynos, mustang dynos do not provide an accurate read out they tend to show higher numbers than actual

Stock 2.3 makes 130whp that is taken into account drivetrain lose and accessory lose

2.3 with I/H/E ~150whp depending on brands chosen
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N2AZaGJ5b4

Stock 2.0 makes about 120
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fSGBBxzo7c

2.0 with I/H/E could about 140

"Lucky" for us the stock intake and exhaust systems are so restrictive that if you spent money you could actually get some gains from it. The numbers provided vary about 2-4 hp/tq and the numbers could be higher when coupled with a hypertech unit.

Before ppl get too excited lets see what the money to power ratio is:

Intake: $120-300 2-7 increase
Exhaust: $150-500 2-7 increase
Header: $120-400 2-7 increase

Just because something costs more does not mean its better, example is any bmw 04 and newer. To find which brands work best you have to look around on forums and see what results other members had. Id love to do a dyno pull but dont have the funds.

I wonder what that 6-21 hp increase would mean at the end of a quarter mile or 0-60 run after a $390-$1200 investment?

is that 2-7 HORSEPOWER?? not even worth mentioning, especially if i spent 500$ and only get 5HP.your car will make more HP after each run to a point ,maybe 2-7 more, stock

So I got around 300 cash now. What should I put it towards?
Intake? Exhaust? I mostly want more sound to my car. Would a magnaflow muffler do the trick? Or what should I do to get more sound?
