I bought a Mazda3 Sport last summer and it now has 5000km.About one month ago I noticed a slight humming noise comming from the back of the car when it is idelling.Anybody think this is normal or should I have it checked out?Thank you in advance.

Can't remember what year (in the seventies I think) Mazda had a rotary engine, that was suppossed to be very quiet, and all one could hear was a hummmmmmmm, instead of the noise of a conventional engine.
They used that hummmmmmmm in their commercials.

Yes it was the "70"s campaign when they were putting the 12Arotary in nearly everything they produced, and everything had RX in the model name. Probably "72-"76, +/-.

 

...piston engine goes boing-boing-boing, the Mazda goes hmmmmmmm...
