Help - Replacing climate control airflow wire.

Hello,

I have a 2006 Mazda 3 Sedan. While removing the climate control unit in order to replace the light bulbs in it, I ended up chopping off part of
the steel wire that is attached to the airflow manual knob. How can I replace it? It's not long enough now.

How can I remove it in order to replace it?

Video:

Please see video and picture attached.

Also found this, but it doesn't help me much. > Mazda 3 Service Manual - Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation [Manual Air Conditioner] - A/C

Thanks!

Those instructions are 100% perfect. Remove the old cable & fit the replacement cable.

I've removed those units & cables on maybe a dozen BL Mazda 3s.

I don't know what else I can add the instructions in that link.

Look easy on paper, but the pictures in the link are not clear for me. I have removed the audio unit, climate unit, and the ash tray. Just don't know how to remove the rest.
Seems too complicated. Don't know how much it would cost to get this done. :/

I only need to replace the steel wire with the black housing. Do I have to remove the glove box?

Going by my RHD manual, it says to remove the glovebox & PJB.

In the nicest possible way, If your struggling with the instructions you posted, then this might just be a job too big for you & you should consider a mechanic to carry out the repair for you.

Mechanics don't know how to fix these kind of "simple" issues. They send you to the stealership. Anyway, I fixed it my own way. Thank you.
