Help - Replacing climate control airflow wire.
1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I have a 2006 Mazda 3 Sedan. While removing the climate control unit in order to replace the light bulbs in it, I ended up chopping off part of the steel wire that is attached to the airflow manual knob. How can I replace it? It's not long enough now. How can I remove it in order to replace it? Video: Please see video and picture attached. Also found this, but it doesn't help me much. > Mazda 3 Service Manual - Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation [Manual Air Conditioner] - A/C Thanks! |
Those instructions are 100% perfect. Remove the old cable & fit the replacement cable.
I've removed those units & cables on maybe a dozen BL Mazda 3s. I don't know what else I can add the instructions in that link. |

I only need to replace the steel wire with the black housing. Do I have to remove the glove box?

Going by my RHD manual, it says to remove the glovebox & PJB.

In the nicest possible way, If your struggling with the instructions you posted, then this might just be a job too big for you & you should consider a mechanic to carry out the repair for you.
