Default Heat reduction For IAT

any body have any ideas about getting my intake to not get as hot as it does. its making the air hotter and making my engine light go on, it doesnt affect my engine or radiator, its jus bein dumb. ive heard of heat shields, or a certain thing that i could rap the intake into keep it cooler in there? any suggestions ??

what kind of setup do you have? are you using the stock intake / cold air intake / or shortram intake?

p.s. do you drive a vw? if so, what kind?

yes, there are heat shields available as well as heat wrap.

Are you sure that heat is the problem? Could it have to do with the MAF sensor? These things are really picky.

Lol you really want a VW dont you hahaha.
Dont know if this works or is even relevant. but If you take out the air conditioner from the car and put the car at full heat all the time it would improve your performance. my friend did that in his Saturn Station wagon. and now its pretty fast for a saturn lol. thing could beat my car easily

and i know its intake air temp because thas what the code reader said when i plugged it in. the MAF is fine. i just need it to cool down in there

yea thats what i told him too. but he doesnt use the A/C so he was like ok its goin out. i called him an idiot for it lol

i remmber someone was asking about a short ram that had the carbon fiber look just like yours. i dont remmber if it was you.. the situation was that the MAF sensor had nowhere to be installed, so that person was gonna "backyard" fit it somehow. is the intake from ebay?

also, if its a short ram, shouldn't it NOT be getting hot? if anything it would the long piped CAIs since its more piping.. im jsut assuming.. i dont kno if im making any senseee
