Has my mazda 3 skipped 3rd and 4th service?
 

Hi.

I am trying to figure out if i my newly purchased 2015 Mazda 3 has skipped some services. The dealer claimed all was well when asked directly before the sale, but in hindsight i know i should have checked myself. I can't find any documentation on the 3rd and 4th service. Only on the 1st, 2nd are documented at mazda, and i have a reciept for the 5th.

The cabin filter currently in the car is dated oktober 2016, it was replaced in 2017 and should have been replaced again in 2019 at the 4th service. The air filter looks like it is dated 2008, and should have been replaced first in 2018 at the 3rd service. Can this information be used to claim that the 3rd and 4th service probably have been skipped? Or is it common that replacement parts are that old stock?

I would appreciate any help or tips.

Very few Auto parts are date sensitive expirable. I have hundreds of parts in the shop that are dated in their 80's and are totally fine and NIB or NOS product (NIB+New In Box/ NOS New Old Stock)
Cabin filter's should be service every season or more depending on the operating environment.

If the previous owner had service performed outside a MAZDA dealer ship then most likely that documentation was not part of the history MAZDA has and because it may have had previous owner information was discarded.

I would suggest if you have a concern then do a current service check up from at least and independent service shop and keep the documentation in case it will be needed for any warranty claims in the future.

I don't think the "brake service" at 24k really does much. If you're exposed to significant amounts of salt and corrosion, then yeah it is good to make sure that the caliper pins and such are lubricated, but otherwise, brakes are a consumable and wouldn't really be subject to warranty unless Kodi nox there is some sort of spectacular failure.
