Default Gas Mileage from 2.3L

Im currently driving a 89 323 at the moment, but want to upgrade to a 2004-up Mazda 3 with 2.3L engine.

How many Km or miles do you get on a tank of gas right from full down to E? On my 323 I average 400KM on a tank of gas which isn't high for a small motor like that, but is also has a small gas tank. Around 30L to fill it. Anyway people Ive talked to so far seem to say their Mazda 3 gets around 600KM on a tank, but I suspect this is the 2.0L model. Anyone?

But remember that upgrading only to get better milage is false economy. If your car runs well, with no real maintenance problems, upgrading may not save you any money. Friend of mine has an old 323 with 245,000 km on the clock and still going strong.

Im not upgrading for mileage. Im upgrading because I want more fun in my driving. The 323 with its 1.6L leaves a lot to be desired, plus its a sloppy handler. Its also just getting old and needs almost as much work on it this year as it will cost to sell it if it was running 100% ok.

yep in that case you'll have a lot of fun in a 2.3L 3! Enjoy

I have a Speed 3 -- my commute mileage is in the 20-22 mpg range. Best mileage: 30.4 on a road trip will still breaking her in. Highway mileage after break-in: around 28-29.

I get what Siber gets. I can get 400 miles a tank if I drive slower and do more highway driving.
