Default Really!? the exhaust mod

So after some investigation regarding opeing up the exhaust on my 08 3 2.3 5sp, I find there are three in line exhaust systems; pre-cat, cat and silencer(only had the car less a week). And that the rear suspension is bolted up on top of the rear portion of the exhaust? Man sakes alive! They couldn't make it any easier could they? Anyways I am looking forward to losing the 3 cat exhaust and restrictive muffler sooner than later!

You'll be sorry.....
Along with the restriction you will lose and the noise you will gain, you will also lose nearly all of your low-end torque.
Some restriction is necessary. I suggest you keep the legal parts of the exhaust (pre-cat and cat) alone, at least. Also, running w/o a resonator will drone you and your passengers to death.
Go with an upgraded (re: noisier) muffler in the stock location if you will, and maybe a better tailpipe tip (e.g. 4" double-walled stainless steel) and leave it at that. You'll be much happier with the results.

As Richard wrote, performing the changes you've outlined above will most likely produce a very undesirable result; just follow the KISS principle and either leave your car alone or follow the changes Richard suggests.

Agreed to both above. And trust me, Ive messed with this exhaust enough to know. I did 2.5" "catback" have a Thrush glass pack muffler, OBX resonator down pipe with the stock header with cat. Its plenty loud enough and doesn't ruin your low end.

Here are some vids of pretty much before and after:

This one is with the header w/o the cat and no restrictions besides the glasspack:

This one is without the header:

Dang, Mike!! 'Bet you're pissing off some neighbors w/that system.
It sounds incredibly loud on my system even w/the volume turned down.
