Default Front passenger door latch cable help/advice 2012 Mazda 3

Hello. Just joined this forum to get help or advice with my door latch cable that runs between the interior door handle and the door latch mechanism. This broke at the very end at the termination on the door handle side. I cant find a replacement and the dealer wants $150 for new cables and a new mechanism and they don't sell them separately. I've checked with the local scrap yard but there are no similar year Mazdas at the yard.

Do anyone know of other cables or mazda vehicles that have about 26.5-27" in length cables. Has anyone found a 3rd party cable that fits or perhaps has an extra they'd sell me for a reasonable cost? Has anyone tried to fabricate their own cable?

This is my brother's car and he frequently transports his wife and kids so I worry about the risk of not being able to exit the vehicle in an emergency and would like to get this repaid sooner rather than later so any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
~Julius

Try a 2009 to a late 2012. What about Ebay or Amazon?
