Default Front Bumper Grill Install

Has anyone installed a new replacement front bumper grill (the mesh one on the bottom)? I have a 2006 Mazda 3s Hatch and the grill is cracked. I have the new grill from the dealer but the parts guy mentioned the possibility of maybe having to take the front bumper off. It looks like there may be enough room to get in behind and get the grill out and in but I thought i would see if anyone else had done this before.

Thanks in advance.

It comes out/goes in very easily. You just need to get through the wind screens that close out the bottom of the bumper.

The grille is held in with a couple of phillips head screws and a series of clips around the perimeter of the grille.

This would be a very easy replacement for anyone with a phillips screwdriver and a little time on their hands.

You don't need to pull the bumper off to do it.

The lower grill in the hatch clips in.No screws. It is helpful to be able to reach it from below, but not absolutely necessary.

You won't need them, Tim.
Pull off the lower splash shields and reach inside. You can feel the clips that are part of the grill (they do not detach from it.)
Squeeze a few together and push outward on the grill then just work your way around. You'll be fine.
