Default Error code P0882: TCM Power Input Signal Low

Hello
My car has been in the body shop for several weeks, and supposedly, the only thing they did was some work to the wheels. When I picked up the car, they had to jump start it and told me the battery is no longer holding charge. When I drove it, the engine light, traction control and tire pressure lights all turned on. The transmission would not shift into any gear (I think its stuck in 3rd or 4th) even if I try to put it in "M" mode. It feels like the car has no power at all, even when I floor it. The gauges would randomly flicker and turn on/off and the power steering jolted during a turn.

I took it home, scanned the code and got a P0882: TCM Power Input Signal Low

I am anything but a mechanic, so I was looking into things I can try to fix this. Any suggestions?

Get the battery recharged and professionally tested.

If its dodgy, replace the battery, clear the code and see what happens. If the battery tests good, clear the code and see what happens.

Low battery voltage can cause all sorts of problems.

P0882 can be caused by low battery voltage.

Hi, same exact issue here! Did you ever figure out the problem? I did a little research and found a post that said "PCM) has detected a low voltage condition in the TCM power input circuit"

Also found something that says it could be the camshaft position sensor. I was about to replace it then found some people had more issues after doing this. I'm hoping to figure this out without taking it to the dealer!
Any response would be appreciated.
Thank you

I just had mine show up today. Took it to oriellys to get checked, and their tester couldnt even pick it up. New battery fixed my issue, could be different for you though

Default TCM Input signal low

Hi all,

My 2013 Mazda 3 is showing this code as well. I lost steering yesterday, my dash lights were flashing like a rave show and then my traction control and check engine light came on. I lost power while I was driving too and my car wouldn’t go. So I had to put it in park, then reverse and then drive to get it to drive again.

I got the code checked and the parts store said it could be an alternator, have any of you had yours replaced and solved the issue? My battery was at 12 volts at idle and should’ve been at least 14. This battery is only 10 months old and is the top of the line. I don’t want to buy an alternator if that’s not it. Just looking to see what fixed this issue for everyone else.

Thanks!

I have a 12 Mazda 3 skyactiv & today my car did the same thing while driving & I couldn’t steer, I had this issue when my battery terminals were loose, but I’m starting to think it’s an alternator because Mazda also has the skyactiv noted for a recall because our alternators aren’t properly updated with the tcu but they haven’t done a recall but it’s common, especially when you brake & the headlights and taillights flicker. My mechanic is going to look at my car & hopefully there’s an easy fix.
