Default Dash light — Blind Spot Monitoring system off

Ever since replacing a side mirror, the Blindspot monitoring system is not working. I would like to turn the system off. When I uncheck the check box in order to turn it off, an indicator on my dashboard lights up saying the BSM system is off. I would prefer not to look at this indicator light permanently. I am well aware that the system is off. (After all, I turned it off.) I find the light distracting. Is there any way at all to get the light to turn itself off? Thank you.

I would guess you have fitted the wrong mirror. Fitting the correct mirror ( that's equipped with the BSM light) will fix your problem.

thank you so much for replying. Yes I did use an aftermarket mirror which isn’t quite right.

However, even if the mirror were correct I might want to turn off the BSM without having to stare at that superfluous indicator on the dashboard. Is there any way to disable this light? Thank you!

Thank you. I was hoping to actually turn off the light. But if that isn’t possible, a simple piece of tape may be better than living with the light on.
