Cost of Dealer Oil Change 2012 Mazda3 Skyactiv?

I just had my first oil change on my 12 Skyactiv at my local Mazda Dealer cost $75! The car takes 4.4 quarts of Synthic Oil. This seems way too high! What did you pay?

Thanks

7 bucks a quart, filter, labor, and disposal, dunno? Do it yourself next time, then is it seem way too high?

I will do it myself next time. On a new car I usually have it changed the first time since it seems that the fikter is "welded on" at the factory I'm sure that the dealers cost of oil and filter is lower than my cost! I could buy Mobil one for $5-6 dollars a quart. Yes I understand overhead and profit, but this is about a 15-20 muinute job with a lift and proper tools! I beleive that they are paid for used oil by a recycler as well!

That might very well be. I'm not defending the dealer, but do it yourself. Dealer is an employer, he has workmans comp, electric bill ect. I just change mine myself.

I know my car is not a 2012 or a skyactiv but my oil change last month at the dealer on my '06 3 cost me 310 euro ($393 USD), 1 liter of oil is 55 euro ($70) for my car then filter, labor and inspection for the year (40 euro/$51) etc

I just got back from a dealer oil change in Worcester MA. It came to $57.

5 quarts Mobil 1 5w20 fully synthetic: about $25
Mobil 1 filter: about $15
Labor at Mazda: $9

:)

~$50

I will gladly ship you 5 liters of Mobil 1 full synthetic for $35 per liter including shipping the next time you need to change your oil. :)

I'll change my own oil next time using Mobil 1. I usually get the oil and filter changed at the dealership the first time since the filter as installed by the factory is usually a bear to remove. I did not expect to pay a $40 premium over "regular" oil for synthetic. I think $75 for a oil and filter change in Urbana, IL is absurd!
