I've had a rusty hose/pipe as long as I've owned the car (for a year now). It's been bugging me and just recently found out that it's the clutch hose.
How bad does it look to you? I don't know about cars so much but to me it looks like it can break anytime soon. The clutch works still, but how long, hard to predict.
Is there some concern that it may not be possible to change only the hose but additional work is needed? The end of the hose looks awfully rusted as well.
I went to see the car again. Slave cylinder looks fine from the outside. I rubbed the hose a bit and it may be that it's not as bad it looks.
Is it expensive to change the hose? I mean, to me it looks there might quite lot of disassembling needed.
But what I'm really interested at is that if the hose breaks and starts to leak do I loose my breaks as the clutch and brakes use the same reservoir? Or are those separated hydraulic systems?
