Anything that brings a car closer to potholes is a no-no for me. Dunno how the roads around you are though.

Thanks Scott, another good pic. I really like the looks of those and potholes are not an issue in my general area. I am surprised that they are secured with tape, I just didn't realize the stuff was that strong. I figured it would have to be screwed/bolted/rivited on. Interesting.

I've heard of a new-to-me technique of buying some garage door rubber (like for the bottom of the door), paint to color, and attach it to the chin of the car. The Toyota Yaris salesman that I was talking to was a car guy who I knew from high school and said a guy with a hb Yaris did it and said it looked good and near factory. Supposed to be cheap and non-damaging if you hit road or curbs.

They called this a HD (Home Depot) Lip on another forum. I don't know about painting it, though. Seems like it would flake off pretty easy as that stripping is fairly flexible.

I don't have a garage door mounted on mine so I'm looking for something that would look like it belongs on the car.

Actually, I have seen them and they look pretty good!!! And for around $15 bucks you can't got wrong. Of course if you have trimming talent, it will look better than if just hacked off square.
