Car Turns Off
Hello:
I have a 2012 Mazda 3, 6 speed in good condition. Never really had problems with it. As I was driving a couple of days ago - once going about 30 mph and once about 60 mph - same day, same trip to and from work, the car just shut off. I pulled over (no power brakes, no power steering), started the engine again, and it started immediately with no problem. The first indication that it is going to shut off is the radio goes off. I had it checked at AutoZone the next day for codes, and there were none. No check engine light. Battery, alternator both good. Called Mazda dealerships, and they said it was rare, and they have no idea. Bring it in and they will drive it around (??) - not sure how that will help, as it is intermittent. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks so much.

Buy a cheap battery voltage gauge that goes in your cigarette light socket. Keep a eye on the voltage, should be between 13 & 14v. If it drops below this with engine running then your charging system could be at fault.
