Default Aux input on MS3

I'm not sure if I just have a n old, bad cable but I plugged my iPod into the aux input this morning (didn't have time to hook up my Sirius Sportser) and had to turn the volume on the iPod ALL the way up to get any sound to the stereo. Seems there is a problem somewhere along the line...

try turning the volume up on the aux mode, the system stores different volumes for each mode.

Wow, the system store different volume settings? Never knew that. Learn something new every day.

Another problem I'm noticing is that the ALC is NOT working for the Aux input. I can't stand the auto volume leveling systems and even though I set it to "off" with the aux input, it still adjusts the volume based on my speed.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I don't see why it would continue to do it if it's set OFF. Might be something to ask the dealer about.

Also this is the first time I've heard of this problem.

I have my ALC turned up to 3, and I can't tell that there is any change in volume while driving. I turn up the volume manully as the road noise increases. Is volume control normally noticable?

The ALC in my car (bear in mind I don't have the ACI) is pretty noticable in a non-noticable kind of way. By that I mean that I notice not having to adjust the volume as much. It's speed sensitive, so whenever you cross certain speeds (40mph, 60mph) then it will get louder. It's not a constant increase with speed.

Thanks icspots. Perhaps, since 95% of my driving has been city driving, I have never gone fast enough to hit the speed setpoints. Does anyone know what those setpoints might be?

it's true, no matter what, unless in the aux mode, the system autocorrects even in the absence of alc modes 1,2,or3
