Audio system not working in my 2010--repair or replace?

Weird problem coming up in my 2010 Hatchback: the audio system has suddenly decided to not respond to the ON/OFF and Switching controls. In other words, I cannot turn it off; nor can I change it from FM to AM to CD to AUX. However, the volume control is still working, and I can still use the in-car phone mic/speaker. It doesn't seem to matter if I have phone's BT turned on or off. Has anyone else experienced these issues?

The car has 105K miles with the standard GT audio system (single-CD; not the Bose). If I need to replace it, how big a job is this?

I would try a quick reset. Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and reconnecting it.
Just a possibility it might work. It can't hurt anything.

Well, I'm a little embarrassed... turns out that the audio was fine all along. My phone holder was accidentally pressed against one of the control knobs, which made it seem like the whole thing wasn't working!

However, it got me to thinking about whether I should upgrade the speakers, and how big a job that would be...
