Annual Maintenance

Hello everyone. My name is Beth and I needed somewhere to vent/almost cry about my 2006 Mazda3 maintenance costs.

I was unfortunately in two accidents last year (neither my fault) and it apparently wreaked havoc with my car that has until now gone mostly unnoticed. I have my car in for it's annual maintenance and here's what's wrong:

Purge Valve is Defective
Need new brake rotors (but I'm starting with having current ones machined)
Front struts are leaking fluid
Needs alignment
Engine mount is busted

This has just not been my day today and I want to cry.

The purge valve problem just began. I went to gas up my car last week and after I did the car would not start. Not even try to turn over. I waited a few minutes and it started but it now does this every single time I gas up. The last time it was gassed up the engine light came on and stayed on.

My brakes are vibrating my entire car very badly when I slow down. Garage says they are warped a bit so I'm gonna start with having them machined to see if that helps. Right now as long as it stops my car that's all I care about...I don't have the money to replace them at the moment.

The front struts are a mystery to me but I've been told to expect this to cost major bucks to have replaced.

The alignment is expected and the engine mount is disappointing to me but also not completely unexpected because of the accidents.

I'm just at a loss for words and this is gonna completely wipe out my bank account for just this service.

*sigh*

Thanks for letting me air my grievance.

I love my car which is why I drive it so much...I have 135K miles on it and I bought it with just 55 on it. (actually I live in the country and work in the city so I have a hefty commute but I do love to drive my car).

As a fellow 06 owner i feel your pain, so much little things are really just taking my money before i can even get it in my bank :(. Im almost at the 100k mark myself, but fortunately im able to do my own work so it severely cuts the cost of repairs. If this helps, there is a website that is very trustworthy to buy oem or as good oem parts for a lot cheaper then what your dealer or shop would charge you.

May you continue to zoom in your 3 :)
