hi... i'm new to this forum... just thought i'd ask u all for your advice and any comments u may have for me since i'm considering buying the 2007 Mazda 3 - GS.

i've test driven it and liked it... but can u tell me about any problems or kudos or pros and cons of buying this car?

also... there is a used 2005 Mazda 3 - GS that is available at the dealership with about 40,000 kms on it... which do u think it better - the 2005 or 2007?

my other option is to buy the 2007 honda civic...

I'm looking at a 2007 3i - Touring, myself. The Honda may hold its resale value a bit better than the 3, but the 3 will handle much better and be faster. The other thing is that I just can't get myself to like the instrument cluster in the Honda. Heck, if I want a Prius, I'll buy a Prius!
The other thing I forgot to mention is that the Honda dealerships will not offer you any kind of significant deal - not so for the Mazda dealerships (well, except for the Mazdaspeed 3).

queenb - depends what you're looking for. All the car mags are loving the Mazda3, particularly the Speed. General opinions are that it handles better, looks better, and is generally more well put together than other cars in the same segment. I Would definitely go for the Mazda over the Civic, having driven a Honda for the last two years in Japan.

Depending where you live, you might have trouble getting hold of a hatch, if that's what you want. They are in short supply here in the NW. I had to special order mine (the regular 3, not the 'Speed!)

 

i have a mazda3 s 5dr 2005 i have had it for just about a year now bought it brand new i love it i do not have any complaints about it except i don't like the tires that it came with they are softer than what i like. i used to drive a honda civic and love my mazda much more then i ever loved driving my honda it looks better handles better and the interior features i like better than the civic hope this helps queenb
