AC Issue
good morning! I hope I’m posting to the right for him, please direct me if this post should be placed somewhere else.
TLDR - air-conditioning is turned on on the console, the light is on, but no cool air comes out until about 10 minutes of driving. Sometimes it kicks on when running the car at high rpm.
I’m driving a 2006 Mazda three that my father handed down to me, and I’ve been running into this weird issue with the air conditioning. I figured since it’s starting to warm up I should probably address it. The air conditioning light turns on, but the air conditioning doesn’t actually work until about 10 minutes of driving. Sometimes I can get it to kick on when I run the car at a high rpm. I don’t believe it’s the issue with the fan speed switch/**** as the air conditioning light is on, it does flicker when I use the fan speed switch, but I can get it to a point where the light does stay on. I’ve read around a couple of places that it could possibly be the air conditioning fuse? Just trying to narrow down what I should troubleshoot.

A fuse is either functioning allowing electrical current to flow of it is blown. There really is no grey are of them working or not. This is different from a continuity problem .
Basic's:
For DIY
Most Mazda HVAC system
Check that the fans are working properly. If the fans are not functioning the ECU will delay or stop the compressor from operating.
Check that the compressor is operating. Turn the HVAC to MAX look at the clutch and compressor and see if it is turning.
Check condition of drive belt.
If all these seems to be functioning then you must to more advance diagnostics' using pressure testing gauges and a digital volt ohm meter. Or time to take it to a service shop.
I do not recommend to add any freon unless you have exactly determined that the HVAC syst is low. If it is low then you need to find the leak in the system before adding freon.
