215/45/17 tires with a 2 inch drop???

I have the eibach sportline springs on my car which drops 1.8' front and rear about 2' after the springs settle. now my question is will I have rubbing issues if I put on 215/45/17 tires?? anyone with the sportlines and that size tires?

I dont know how it is with the 3's, but the P5's if you have a two inch drop--215/45/17 would be chancing it.. i went with 205/45/17 or another choice for me would be 215/40/17.. They (discount tire) initially told me 205/40/17, but i wanted abigger tire, so they told me if i wanted a bigger tire size, i wouldneed to roll my rear fenders, so idid...

Not sure if that would apply with you, but it did for me...

My advice, try going to a discount tire and tell them your problem, and they will tell you what sizes you will need with you car and drop, and if you would need to roll any fenders or what not..

Hope this helps!!

Peace,
RJ

I'm running 225/45R17 w/Prokit drop (1.25" roughly) no issues. 17x7 rims 60mm offset.

215/45's are actually a little shorter than the OEM 205/50's. i don't see why you would have any serious problems (rubbing) w/that setup.

thanks for all the help guys. I have the tires on now and no problem! I was running on 205/40/17 for about 3 wks..the 17' rims looked way too small with that size so I went with the 215/45, rides better..less road noise and I worry less about bending my rims. thanks again guys. now I need to find out how much clearance I get if I add the kenstyle kit =)

just a fyi, you should always run a stock sized wheel...
cuz if you dont, it will affect ur speedo...
but not by that much... not unless your riding 16's with 40 series tires... :D

With Sportlines, I'd be more worried about scraping bottom on things like spped bumps, driveway slopes, etc. Other than that, I've talked to any number of guys running s-lines that don't experience any problems. Keep the overall tire/wheel diameter (25.07") and width close to OEM (6.5" + 1/2-1") and I'm sure you won't have any problems.
Be careful how many high-powered, heavy amps you put in the trunk though. :D :D :D

thanks man!!
yeah, ive got 205/50/17 tires....
mounted on 17x7" rims, with a +45 offset... i think...

and i can deal with avoiding speedbumps and ****....
my last car was a slammed civic... coilovers lowered as much as they'd go.... so my civic was about 1.5 inches off the ground.. lol
