2012 Mazda cruise control
#63
Hello everyone. First post here. I just bought a 2011 mazda3 isport 4dr.... love the car, but was seriously bummed when i realized that it didn't have cruise control. I feel better now after reading these success stories of installing the factory cruise. Problem is that all I'm seeing here is about 2010's & 2012's. Does 10 11 & 12 all use the same switcHes? I want to buy the switches but i want to make sure i get the right ones. And do the 2011's need the switch by the brake pedal? Any info greatly appreCiated. .. thanks

We have a 2011 mazda 3 5 speed. I bought the same control on ebay. It took about a half hour to put it on the steering wheel.
No brake switch needed. I made an appointment with mazda dealer and they put it on their computer and it works great. It was worth it. Good luck

I have a 2010 Mazda 3 I with 5-speed manual. I followed Midget9999's instructions for steering wheel controls and took my car to the dealer and had the computer updated and the cruise didn't work. The yellow light came on but the cruise wouldn't engage. I looked at my brake switch and found that it only had 2 pins and not 4 pins. I purchased a brake switch that supports cruise control at Autozone for ~$17 and now my cruise works fine. (I actually told Autozone that I needed a brake switch for a 2011 model.)
I've found out that some of the 2010 models were built with the old 2 pin (non-cruise control) brake switches. Also, if you remove your brake switch it is recommended that you replace it with a new switch.
