2008 Mazda 3S Stalled!
Hi all! I hope all is well. I have a quick question. A few times when my car has been cold and starting it for the first time that day it would kind of hesitate when I was backing up, but today it stalled. I was completely baffled. The last time I had a car stall was when I had a 1980's Chevy Celebrity that had a carburetor. No check engine lights came on, I was thinking of trying to clean the Mass Airflow Sensor. Does anyone else have any good ideas? Any insight would be most appreciated! Thank you!

I forget auto or manual, does it do it every time in reverse?
|
It is an auto and yes it is when it is in reverse... Would/could that make a difference?

I looked it up on my service manual:
NO.24 ENGINE STALLS WHEN SHIFTED TO D, M RANGES, OR IN R POSITION B3E050319090W28 24 Engine stalls when shifted to D, M ranges, or in R position DESCRIPTION • Engine stalls when shifting from N or P position to D, M ranges or R position at idle. POSSIBLE CAUSE • The malfunction is on the engine control side (i.e. IAC system). Otherwise, the malfunction is in the input/turbine speed sensor (engine sometimes starts) or the TCC circuit (engine always stalls). |
So is this something I bring to the dealership like a tsb? Or just live with it? Thanks man...

its only something a dealership is going to have to look at, maybe ask an local auto trans shop about it

That sucks...i wonder if it would be covered under the 5yr/60k warranty? If not I will put up with it. Not paying for that. It has only stalled once. Bucked a few other times.
