2008 Mazda 3S Belt Change
5 Attachment(s)
I just changed my belts in my car. I have around 44k. The drive belt took me 5 minutes, I was scared for a second thinking I got the wrong part because I routed the belt wrong. The AC condenser belt is a pain in the neck, but took a little fabrication to get it on but not that bad. Here are some pics.

So happy I finally got that done, sick of the noise the old belt made.
Got done with that, cleaned the rims and got the car washed. It looks damn good right now! |
nice job, yea the ac belt requires a special tool to get it on and off, i still have my orignal drive belt on heh and i got 97k mi on it, no issues
|
Yes, the instructions called them "jigs" and they said they would come with the AC belt. Well mine didn't! So I just used a flat head screw driver and got it started as far as I could, then I cranked the drive pulley and after half an hour of playing around I got it on.
Speaking of which, if I cranked both ways would that hurt the engine? |
oem belt? or did you get it from pepboys, advanced etc?
|
They both were OEM parts. I got them both for around 20 bucks.
www.tascaparts.com another good site is www.mazdaparts.org Tasca is actually only like 30 minutes away from me but I have had good luck with them... |
yea i would have went to the dealer, they would of had the "jig"
