Default 2007 Mazda 3 Fuel Consumption

So with my Mazda I'm averaging about 20.7 mpg right now but I think thats kind of low. I do live in Chicago but I don't drive a hell of a lot but my car seems to eating gas more than it should. Is anyone averaging around this figure in fuel consumption? Also, how can I reset the reading? if anyone knows how to do that.

Our 2010 3 with the 2.0 liter averages about 22mpg in mixed city driving. These cars do not seem to get very good mileage at all. My Corvette actually does better!

It's pretty bad in the summer, too. High gas mileage doesn't seem to be the 3's forte.

I have a 2009 mazda 3 2.0 automatic in canada, and i get about 37mpg (after conversion from kilometres to miles) city driving and over 40mpg on the highway (Haven't measured it properly as I don't travel much. I don't baby mine much but I also don't have a lead foot. I'd get mine checked out if it was getting less than 30.
