'05 Mazda 3 Rear Wheel Bearings
I'm looking for fairly detailed instructions on how to replace my rear wheel bearing on my '05 mazda 3.
The dealer quoted me $300 minimum just for labor and that seemed a little outrageous to me... Thanks, Liz |
$300 sounds a bit high, though it'll probably take you a good 3-4 hours to complete if you don't run into broken bolts and such. Best bet is to buy a workshop manual... If you want to do a lot of the work yourself in the future, the factory manual for $200 is well worth it, otherwise you can spend $25 and get a crappy (IMO) chiltons, which tends to gloss over some details... but it would have enough of the basic information to do general repairs.
The rear bearings should be pretty simple, I think they just bolt in, though I haven't looked at mine too closely. So if you have a jack, tools, and some mechanical ability, have at it :) |
