Question No information regarding 2011 Mazda 2 thermostat replacement & housing location

I am doing my first radiator flush and thermostat & hose replacement on my 2011 Mazda 2.

First off, there is no easily found information for doing most any maintenance on this car or I just don't know where to look! I look for diagrams and Youtube videos and everything comes up for a Mazda 3!!! I'm a visual and "hands-on" learner so pictures really help me to locate components.

1.) FLUSH: I have no real problem with the flush but one puzzling thing is that the video I found for it says to run the engine at 2500 rpm with the heat and defroster on high until the fan kicks on and then run for about 5-10 minutes after. I ran the engine for 30 minutes reving at 2500 much of the time and the fan never came on until I turned on the A/C button then it kicked on every few seconds. I don't understand this and there only appears to be one fan even though much of the information I've read says one fan turns on for radiator and one for A/C! Anyone want to shed some light on this please?
2.) LOCATING THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING: Having a hard time finding the thermostat housing on this vehicle, hell I can't even find a picture of what it's supposed to look like online! Is it on the upper or lower radiator hose? What's an easy way to get the wiring harnesses and plastic cover off the engine? Any help would be much appreciated, any diagrams or step by step instructions would also be great!

Thanks for any help!

The coolant from factory is good for 10yrs or 200,000kms.

Unless your having any issues, I wouldn't bother with the thermostat. I've never seen a Mazda 2 of your type having any thermostat issues.
