Spanner warning light on for a few seconds
 

I have had a warning light pop up a couple of times now when driving along, it stays on for less than a minute, and popped up around 20 miles between each time it came on.

In my owners manual, the only mention about this light is that if it stays on, it is a malfunction with the brake release. There doesn't appear to be any issues with the brakes. Is there any other meaning for this light I am missing? My first thought is that a service is due. However, I have been doing my own servicing, so what exactly needs to be done in order to stop the light coming on, if it is relating to a service being due?

Model is a 2012 Mazda 2 venture edition.
