Default Rear driver side noise uneven surface

Hello,

I have a 2008 Mazda 2 sport and two weeks ago had a horrendous knocking noise over bumps and the garage said it was the shock absorber so I had both rears replaced. However, there’s a noise still coming from the rear which is slightly different it’s when going over uneven surfaces at low speeds. I got them to check it again and they said they couldn’t find anything and I just don’t believe it. The original noise is gone, but this is like something is loose over bumps or gravel. I’m tempted to get a different garage to look at it?

thanks

Its worth checking the actual mounts at the top of the rear shock absorbers, mines a 2008 and both the shocks and mounts failed on mine.

The mounts are held in by two 12mm or 13mm bolts if I remember correctly.

They look like this: for MAZDA 2 2007-2015 REAR L/R SHOCK ABSORBER TOP STRUT MOUNT MOUNTINGS & BOLTS | eBay

It's not a difficult job however, in my case, the passenger side bolts were so corroded they rounded off and I ended up having to drill them out, drivers side came out no problem.
