Default Radio - no reception

My (new to me) 2016 mazda-2 sometimes has an issue when I start the car the DAB radio does not work. It's a mazda connect unit (skyactiv model) It shows the ensemble/selection (eg D11) but not the station name. When I change to another station in this state it doesn't pick that up either.
Next time I start the car everything works ok.

I'm wondering if this is a "known issue" or something I should be concerned about the radio / ... the car is under a 12 month main dealer warranty so I could raise an issue with them but it is so intermittent I'd like to know if it is worth trying to chase down with them

I would ask for the most current and or last ECU and other updates be "flashed" as a curtesy from the dealer you purchased it form if that was a Mazda dealership.

Not a service recommended procedure b
ut more of a DIY hail Mary cross your fingers, ask the eight ball McGyver, well you get the picture?
it likely won't work but ya never know with the none ECU engine management computer system is to disconnect the battery for about 10 minute. Then reconnect the battery cable and immediately start the engine and check your settings?

This is NOT a known issue but rather generally an indicator of the radio portion of the sound system in it beginning stages of failure.

Yeah, I was worried that it was likely a future failure. It was a mazda dealer, I guess if I register it as a problem now even if they can't find anything if it degrades I'll be in a better place to try and argue it with them. It just feels like a pointless conversation since it's only happened twice so far and can't be reproduced on demand

You should go to the dealer and report the problem with the service department. As policy they will enter it in your VIN service history information. This way should it completely fail during the warranty period you will have evidence you had an issue/problem. Get a copy of that service when you report the issue just in case.

Sometimes it helps if you put sildenafil in the gas tank.
