Mazda 2 Neo, Spongy Brake Pedal
 

Hello, I have just recieved my car back from a smash repairer after the car was involved in a accident(only body damage). The brake pedal was firm when i drove it on the tow truck 2months ago, now the pedal is really spongy i done a brake bleed replacing all fluid in the system and it improved very little. their is plenty of meat left on the front pads and the rotors are around 22mm left. there is plenty of meat on the shoes aswell is there something that i am overlooking that could firm the pedal up or is there something that the smash repairer has done that is causing this problem.

are you sure the brakes are properly bled?
I think the only other thing is if there is a leak in one of the lines (or caliper seal) or possibly one of the rubber lines is stressed and stretching a little.
You may want to have someone press on the brakes while you feel the flex lines by hand, just to see how much they move.
Another test is to jack up the car, and have somoene push on the brake pedal by hand until you can't turn the tires by hand. I've had my brakes feel spongy simply cause there is corrosion on the rotors that need more force to stop the car. It isn't truly spongy, just more force to stop the car that feels the same.
