CVT gear box
#2
I own a 2009 Demio with a cvt transmission. About 160000km
are you trying to determine if the Demio has a CVT transmission?
1) locate the transmission dipstick, look at the top of the stick or pull it out and look for writing stamped on the stick. The type of fluid required is usually marked on it. The CVT fluid is different than the regular automatic transmission fluid.
If it says 3320 on the stick it’s a CVT transmission, if it says M5 (or MV) it’s a regular automatic.
2) if you have driven an automatic before you will know that there are definitive changes between gears. On the cvt there are no definitive changes.
3) the gear lever usually only has D and Ds. There are no numbers
