Engine mounts and severe vibration ?
Hi...can someone tell me if changing your top engine mount would cause massive vibration through the car? My man says its just because it's changed the position of the engine in relation to the others and I will have to change all the mounts to stop it vibrating. He is also trying to say its perfectly fine to drive it with the vibration but I don't believe so. It's REALLY vibrating. Wouldn't that cause damage if I drive it?
Please let me know before this ends in divorce! Thanks.
(Also how much do those mounts cost? The one we changed was apparently 280 bucks.?)

1 thing for sure hydro mount is in different position than old one (closer to engine about half inch)
That happened to me - vibration after getting engine mounts (as it turned out, were not needed). Take it to another mechanic to have the mounts reinstalled properly. If your mechanic says it's perfectly fine to drive it with the vibration - you need a new mechanic.
