2017 Mazda 2, mirrors making constant noise
Hi everyone,
my mazda mirrors are both making a noise that match this thread:
https://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/maz...t-noise-46976/
It sounds like there are 2 main fixes - 1) replace the gear 2) replace the whole mirror.
I don't think i'm competent enough for 1), I just got quoted £500 for 2) which is probably 10% the value of the car... so isn't worthwhile.
Would it be safe / a potential fix of the noise but not the functionality to just unplug the electrical connections to the mirrors?
is it an issue to just have wires hanging about!
And if so, do i unplug them to each mirror, or do i unplug the connection to the button for the mirrors itself?
one consideration with unplugging the mirror is it has indicators on the sides of the lights that i'd need to work still
