What oil

I need to do an oil change on my mazda tribute 2ltr petrol engine. It says to use 5w20 or 5w30, can someone advise me if you can use a synthetic or part synthetic oil in it or do i need a certain type.

i live in the UK

You need to match your oil to your driving.

A: Where in the world are you?
B: What are the minimum & maximum temps you drive in thru out the year?
C: How many kms / miles you you drive on an average trip & in what traffic flow / conditions?

A) I live in Glasgow Scotland

b) temp can be between - 30 an minus 5 degrees centigrade

c) average trip would be between 4 and 15 miles per day about 6000 miles a year

hope that helps just dont know if i can use synthetic oil in my engine i have 90K on the clock

Synthetic is the best oil for any condition, what you need to make sure is the weight of the oil
I would go full synthetic 5W20 as recommended by the manufacturer.
