Default Sun roof broke

Hello, I have an 05 Tribute with the sun roof stuck in what I believe is the vent position. The motor for it seems to be broke only once in awhile making clicking sounds when hitting the button. All I want to do is close it completely so the next time I take it thru a car wash I don't have a rain shower inside of it. Is there a way to completely close it without having to replace the sun roof motor?

Mine doesn't have a sunroof but worth popping the mechanism cover off (blank plastic panel in the roof lining at centre front of the sunroof usually), if there is one and seeing if there is the facility to hand-crank it in the event of failure. Some cars provide a crank in the tool kit, others use a standard socket drive...fingers crossed

The clicking noise usually indicates the motor gear and or the driven mechanism has stripped, sometimes you can get movement by triggering the motor to close and pressing down on the open part of the roof.
