Default Sticky throttle

Ladies & gents (and those who prefer different pronouns),
My 2005 Tribute v6 has slowly seemed to become less than smooth. When i take off from traffic lights for example, i have to use much more pressure on the accelerator than i should. I mean, if i wanted to flatten it to the floor, you wouldn't notice it, but when you want to take off gently, like with the mother in law in the car, it's like pressure, pressure, pressure, overpressure and take off like a scalded cat.
It's got to the point now where i am getting annoyed enough to try to fix it. Suggestions please?

Hi , i had to do mine when i 1st got it , same symptoms and very annoying especially at 100kph where it would sort of stick a little .
Fix was to Replace old throttle cable with new one , put grease on ends also , easy .

Btw- supposedly i purchased 1 of the last 2 in Australia from Ford OEM spare parts , even got a discount because of so , from nearly $150? i forget to $70 or something like that .

If the throttle body is dirty, they will sometimes hang up just off idle. Pull the boot off the throttle body and look down in there. Move the throttle by hand and see if there is deposits around the edge of the plate. You can spray the plate and body clean with a carb cleaner.
