Default steel piston?

Hi there.. I own Tribute 2008 sport and need to replace discs and pads... but the guy ask me if my model has steel piston.. any help?

I assume they are talking about the brake caliper piston.

No idea what this has to do with pads & rotors. They just need to find your vehicle in their catalog.

I think he is either an idiot or pulling your chain - even IF 2 kinds of brakes are fitted to your model, the material the caliber piston is made of is NOT a sensible method of determining which you have (in Ford or anyone else's minds...).

Yes is the Caliper Piston.. this is 1what i recieve in my email..

Kind of lost.. btw when I try to remove the caliper guide pin. is a hex bit I try to remove and expected.. 7 mm or 9..mm ( they said so..) but the highest I can get is 10mm ,but mine is at least 17 where can I get that bit/ or what is proper size? thanks, again.

If you search the part number they quote then elsewhere they quote the more useful guidance “fits models with rear disc brakes”....

You will be needing to remove the caliper mounting brackets from the hub to replace the rotors so Id expect bigger than the caliper mounting screws but Im not sure what size, 17mm bolt head sounds about right.
