Default Shift lever won't engage
My car is a mazda tribute Automatic transmission. the shift lever (steering column mounted) won't engage at all. the car is apparently stuck in neutral since I'm able to push the car back and forth. Help pls!!!

The cable between the lever and transmission maybe broken. Is there any resistance when you move the lever between gears? If it feels loose, my guess is that the cable is broken.
