Default Radiator Low indicator remains on

Had Mazda dealership replace coolant on the maintenance schedule. 90 days later "Low coolant" light lights(red radiator indicator) stays on constantly. Checked coolant level, all good. Since it's past 90 days, Mazda wants another $90.00 for diagnostic fees. Since it's not related to Emissions, my OBDII code reader comes up with no codes. My question is, what controls that idiot light and how did I make it go away.

Thanks
John

Light comes on when the float for the level sensor in the bottom of the reserve tank drops below a certain level or it just breaks like probably 75% of them did and were replaced under warranty. That was the main reason the level sensor was discontinued from production. There are two 10mm nuts to remove to lift the tank up, turn over and unplug the sensor and light will never bother you again. Otherwise, if you do want the low indicator to operate then the entire resevoir bottle is needed as the sensor is not available as a separate service part.

I had the same problem with the light coming on with our '01 Triubte, and tribute babyhuey's suggestion - the light is now off, and all is good!

Hi Ron, The level sensor is on the underside of the overflow bottle on the outside. Just need to unbolt the bottle from the body and unplug the two wire connector on the bottom. It is the only electrical device on the overflow bottle.
