p0128 trouble code

'06 Tribute
4-cylinder
169,000 miles

Got this code. I checked the reservoir, it was almost dry so I added water to it to bring it up. Then I drove it around and MIL was still on so I disconnect battery to clear code. Two days later the light came back on with same code.

Should I change the ETC sensor, or flush the coolant system and replace thermostat? Also I read about some programming or calibrating thing? Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I changed the Thermostat and fluid yesterday. I disconnected battery to clear code. This morning light is back on. errr. Will go to auto parts today to get code read to see if its the same, or maybe i left something disconnected, dont think so though. If its still P0128, then I'll buy a new ETC sensor.

Got code read. P0193 (fuel rail pressure something-or-other). I guess I did leave something disconnected. I hope I didnt damage any wire/connectors. I will check it out today.

At least no coolant code..

I'm having a conversation with my self here.. lol

I checked and there was no loose connections, I reseated them all. I disconnected the fuel rail sensor and cleaned it with carburetor cleaner. Took it for a test drive and the light hasn't come back on. I'll wait a couple more drive cycles and see if it stays off. Crossing fingers...

Lots of mileage, could be anything, would have been nice to know last time coolant and thermostat changed, still may have to chaange coolant sensor as that may be full of crud.

Thank you for your comment. Coolant was flushed at about 100K miles. I cleaned sensor, still looked ok. If light turns on again, then I'll change sensor.
